TARIKI DISTRICT NEWS
QUEEN CARNIVAL PARTY. At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. Robertson a very enjoyable card evening was held on Monday, pronouncing the commencement of the queen carnival. There was a good attendance. The evening was in honour of the green and amber candidate (Miss D. James). Both euchre and cribbage were enjoyed, the winners being: Euchre, Mrs. Horsnell and Mr. J. Trass. Cribbage: Mrs. Robert James and Mr. Reg. James. Consolation, Mrs. James senr. and Mr. L. Duncan. A competition was won by Miss Olive James. ' The Tariki dairy factory is operating every day and the prospects are • for a good season. Personal Items. Miss Barbara Harkness, who has been visiting New Plymouth, has returned. Mr. Dombroski senr., Durham Road, is in the New Plymouth hospital. Mrs. E. Mahon, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. Dodunski, Durham Road, has returned. Miss M. James, Surrey Road, who has been on an extended holiday at Taumarunui and Auckland, has returned. Mr. Horsnell (stationmaster), has resumed his duties.
