MADAME STAVISKY’S PLEA
KEPT IN PRISON FOR SIX MONTHS. CHARGE AGAINST HER NOT KNOWN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 8.45 p.m. / Paris, Aug. 16. Madame Stavisky, widow of the financier involved in the Bajonne bank frauds, has written to the commission of inquiry saying that she has now been in prison for six months and has been required to furnish information about others but has not been questioned about herself. She does not know the charge on which she is held, and demands her freedom or an opportunity to clear her name.
