The Bolton District Grocers’ and Provision Dealers’ Association, at a meeting at which 200 niembers were represented, passed a motion pledging to refuse to stock or distribute Australian produce till the textile tariffs were withdrawn.

Lancashire cotton organisations have sent a delegation to London to see Mr. Walter Runciman, President of the Board of Trade, and Mr. Stanley Bruce, Australian High Commissioner, in reference to the Australian cotton duties.

The question of organising a boycott of Australian dairy produce is being considered by grocers’ associations in a number of Lancashire towns.
