INJURED RETURNED MEN

PROMOTION IN THE RAILWAYS.

QUESTION OF FITNESS; NO BIAS.

By Telegraph—Press Association.

Christchurch, Aug. 9.

Mr. Sterling said the suggestion that there was bias against returned men was entirely incorrect. The policy of the department, whenever possible, was to give consideration to returned men if they were fit for any position and, with all things equal, even to give them preference.
