DAMAGES FOR SCHOOLGIRL
INJURY IN A MOTOR ACCIDENT. GUARDIAN WINS CASE IN COURT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Damages amounting to £196 9s 6d were awarded Lorna Inwood, a schoolgirl at Island Bay, by a jury in the Supreme Court case in. which her guardian, Irvine Vincent Hobart Inwood, claimed £350 general,damages and £46 9s 6d special damages from FullerLipton, Ltd. It was alleged by the claimant that on December 15 last she*was run down by a motor-van driven by George Imlach, a servant of the company, and that the accident was due to the negligence of Imlach in driving at an excessive speed in regard to circumstances, failing to keep a proper look-out, failing to sheer clear of the plaintiff and failing to slow down, or otherwise avoid the accident.
