GENERAL RAIN EXPECTED
COLDER CONDITIONS LIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather is expected to be cloudy to overcast, with rain in most districts and snow on the ranges, extending to lower levels in parts of the South Island. Hail is likely in places, and conditions will be cold. A depression with a long north to south extension is crossing the Dominion. Pressure has risen considerably over eastern Australia. Strong northerlies are expected at first over most of the North Island, but strong southerlies should become general by morning. Seas are becoming rough generally.
