BY-LAWS BREACH PROSECUTIONS.

Plaintiffs were awarded judgment by default with costs in the following civil claims at the Magistrate’s Court at Wai-

tara yesterday: Arch. Rawles v. Ike Moa, £8 7s 9d (costs £1 15s 6d); same v. A. Kapinga, £2l 0s 4d (£4 18s 6d); same v. R. W. Holley, £7 6s 9d (£1 12s 6d); same v. G. Terrill, £3 13s 5d (£1 7s 6d); same v. A. C. Burkitt, £5 17s 7d (£2 5s 6d). R. Stockbridge was ordered to pay A. J. Kibby £1.13s 7d forthwith, in default two days’ imprisonment. R. Jury was ordered to pay M. B. Hicks £8 3s 6d forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended on the payment of £2 a month. W. Maxwell was ordered to pay Excelsior Bakery Ltd. £8 14s 7d forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended on the payment of 30s a month. George Scandlyn was fined 10s and costs 10s for driving an unregistered car, and was ordered to pay costs 10s for driving without a license. Constable J. A. Tocher stated that Scandlyn drove a motor-car from Kaimiro to LOpperton on June 14. Scandlyn’s father was shifting to Waitara and Scandlyn drove the car behind the furniture van as far as Lepporton, where a puncture resulted. The car was left there for | several days and as the result of in- . quiries the prosecution arose. | Zelda Spragg was fined 10s with costs £1 0s 6d for overtaking another car at I an intersection. !

Lewis Rattenbury, Urenui, was fined £2 and costs £1 4s for failing to pay the general unemployment levy. Maurice Edward Waterson, farmer, Mohakatino, was convicted of allowing stock to wander. Penalty was postponed pending the fixing of fences by Waterson. A second charge of the same nature 'was dismissed.
