Times, 2m 28 l-ss, 3m 28 2-ss, 3m 28 3-ss. Encounter led out from Guyziah and Betty Wrack. The latter, boxed in behind the leaders, was followed by Great Thought. The order remained unchanged to the straight, where Guyziah dropped back in a punishing finish, letting Betty Wrack through, but Encounter and Great Thought finished strongly. MAIDEN HANDICAP.
