MELBOURNE CENTENARY SPORTS. NEW ZEALAND TEAM SELECTED. By Telegraph—Preps Association. Wellington, Last Night. Representatives of secondary school amateur athletic associations of Auck-r land, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin met to-day to make all necessary arrangements and to select a team of secondary school athletes to represent New Zealand at the intra-Empjre public school sports at Melbourne on November 16 and 17. The team is: G. I. Vickerstaff (Napier Boys’ High School), F. E. Watt (Auckland Grammar), A. J. Sayers (Auckland Grammar), E. D. Clarke (Mount Albert Grammar), E. Wordsworth (Sacred Heart College, Auckland), H. Steele (Rotorua High School), P. G. McLauchlan (Southland Boys’ High School), W. E. Coxhead (Mount Albert Grammar), D. F. Wilson (Waitaki High School). The party leaves about the end of October or early in November. G. G. McLauchlan (Southland Boys’ High School) states that owing to his sitting for matriculation this year, he is unable to make the trip.
