SOUTHERLY WINDS PREDICTED.

Some scattered showers on the cast coast of the North Island arc likely, but otherwise the weather will be fair to fine. Later rain will develop in Westland and in the far north and south. Tire forecast is for light to moderate southerly winds north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, elsewhere northerly. Northerlies will shortly become general and freshening seas in New Zealand waters will be smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tasman there will be freshening northeast to north winds and moderate but rising seas. An anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers the Dominion, while a depression is situated east of the North Island and another one is' advancing slowly across the Tasman.
