MOTOR SERVICE LICENSES

APPLICATION TO QUASH DECISION. COURT RESERVES gTS JUDGMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Decision was reserved by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court to-day after he had heard further legal argument in the action in which two service car companies applied to have quashed the renewal of the license granted by the Central Authority to a third concern. Newman Bros. Ltd., Nelson, and Jenkins Motor Services, Ltd., Masterton, acting as independent plaintiffs applied for writs of certiorari and mandamus against J. A. C. Allum in his capacity as Central Licensing Authority. On June 8 last Allum granted a renewal of a license to S.O.S. Motors, Ltd. (in liquidation) and the action was to have the license cancelled. The plaintiff companies applied at the same time for the license renewed to S.O.S. Motors but their applications were refused.
