TROTTING TRAINER’S DEATH
RESULT OF FALL OFF HORSE FLOAT By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The death occurred at St. George s Hospital this afternoon’ of Mr. W. J. a well-known trainer of trotters. Mr. Tompkinson was injured on May 16 in a fall from a motor float, on which he was loading horses and sulkies. He went to hospital, but was discharged a week later, apparently recovering, x but in a few days he had to return' to hospital. His condition grew steadily worse. The fall caused grave internal injuries which were not at first apparent.
