COURT SEQUEL TO POLICE RAID.

BREACHES OF TRAFFIC RULES.

Following a raid on persons cycling in Pukekura Park, during which 12 offenders only one of whom was an adult was accosted, Harold Capon was convicted and fined 5s and costs 10s at the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court yesterday for cycling on a footpath in a reserve. ing to pass another vehicle at an intersection. Leslie McMillan, who drove a car at night with only one headlight, was convicted and ordered to pay 10s costs. A charge of alleged negligent driving arising out of a collision at the corner of Powderham and Dawson Streets between a motor-car driven by Arthur Ernest Holley, Omata, and a motorcycle ridden by the defendant, William Ronald Parkes, was dismissed. Mr. H. R. Billing appeared for Parkes. A charge against Parkes of a breach of the right-hand rule was withdrawn.
