TRIBUTE TO LOCAL FIRM
UNION FOUNDRY PRODUCTS Standing as a silent testimony to th 6 skill and ingenuity of a local firm of engineers, a big Bcwt. motor winch built to the order of the Central Power Board occupies the position of honour on the stand of Union Foundries Ltd.,
of Stratford. This fine piece of engineering work is to be used for opening and lowering the massive flood gates at Mangahao. It was built entirely at Stratford and serves as an example of what the foundries can do. V*rk)isa types and designs of castings produced by the firm are also on view, showing a high standard of moulding and casting craftsmanship with finishing machine work. Castings of fire grates and samples of factory fittings further impress' the visitor and there are also exhibits of the well-known Renold Chain drive for which the firm holds the Taranaki agency.
