MINIATURE SHOOTING RESULTS.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB CONTESTS. When the men’s miniature section of the New Plymouth Rifle Club held its weekly competition on Monday’ night some fine scores were recorded. The senior button was won by O. George with 139, including a possible. D. Rumball won the B grade button with a possible, the first to be scored by a B grade shot this season, though there have been some very close 69’s. In the following details, score ofl the rifle count for the championship:—

A grade: O. George 69—70—scr—139, N. McArtney 68—69—scr—137, W. Gilbert 66 -68-3-137, S. Bird 66-68—1—135, S. Higgs 66—67—scr—133, L. Higginson 64— 67—1—132.

Team shooting will be continued tonight and practice for those not in the teams.

The programme for the associated miniature rifle clubs’ annual championship competitions shows that they are open to members of all affiliated clubs and will be fired between July 16 and 23, both dates inclusive, and on the competitors* range. For men there is a president’s match, A and B grades, a vice-presidents’ match, A and B grades, with 25 prizes in each match in the A grade and 12 prizes in the B grade, a women’s championship match with twelve prizes, a grand aggregate championship and a B grade championship and a teams’ match each for men and ladies. Ranges 20yds and over will use 20yds tragets and 25 yards and over the 25 yards targets, the distance being measured from the edge of the shooting platform. Entries close on July 7.
