WAIKARI PLOUGHMAN’S DEATH.

Christchurch, Last Night.

Mr. Andrew Burnett Middleton, a single man aged 27, Waikari, collapsed and died on the property of his employer, Mr. K. D. Anderson, shortly after breakfast this morning. Mr. Middleton was a ploughman on the farm. He appeared at the breakfast table as usual but did not eat. He went outside and immediately collapsed and died.

In Mr. Middleton’s whare was found a freshly opened bottle containing strychnine. Some beer in a glass also contained strychnine.
