HOCKEY CLUB’S TROUBLES

MEETING OF EGMONT PLAYERS. Suggestions that, disgusted with the game, various members of the club intended to resign, leaving it urgently requiring players, were discussed at an Extraordinary general meeting of the Egmont Hockey Club at Hawera last night. The general opinion was that, if appealed to, members would continue playing, one member stating that the club had recently lost two of its mainstays, making it imperative for members to hold together. After several speakers had expressed their intention of carrying on, the feeling of those present was hat the club would keep going without trouble. Mr. A. Stevens presided over a good attendance. _
