PUNGAREHU BASKETBALL
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Under perfect weather conditions the Warea and Pungarehu basketball teams met on the. Pungarehu ground. The match ended in a draw, two all- The game was fast, and exciting. M. Stockman scored both goals for Pungarehu and M. Julian and E. Doody one each for Warea. Miss O. Cooper, Rahotu, refereed. The teams were:—Warea: Misses J. Lewis (captain), E. Meier, N. Wells, O. Goodin, M. Sole, E. Doyle, E. Doody, M. Doyle, M. Julian. Pungarehu: I. Stockman, C. Brophy, E. Fleming. H. Doody (captain), J. Priest, J. Gray, M. Stockman, M. Simmons, and B. Kirkwood. . „ „ , Miss M. Brophy and Mr. T. Brophy are in the Hawkes Bay district. Mrs. J. Fleming and Miss B. Fleming have returned from a visit to Patea. Mrs. W. Bailey, who was in the New Plymouth Hospital, has returned home. Miss P. Brennan has taken up nursing in the Patea Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. H. Symons, Whangarei, who are the guests of Mrs. S. Downes, are making final arrangements for their clearance sale, thus severing their connection with the district of which they had been residents for many years. Mr. G. Hoskin, Bayly Road, has been confined to bed with a badly-strained back.
