PILGRIMAGE TO CATHEDRALS

RAISING FUNDS FOR UNEMPLOYED. SPECIAL INAUGURATING SERVICE. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, June 16. The King and Queen will attend a special service at Westminster Abbey on July 1, when a scheme for a "pilgrimage” to Britain’s cathedrals, the purpose of which is to raise funds for unemployed in distressed areas, will be inaugurated. The pilgrimage, the idea of which originated with the Dean of Canterbury, Dr. Hewlett Johnson, will last a fortnight, and tickets costing 2s 6d will be sold to “pilgrims” who will see the cathedrals under special circumstance*.
