The election of a member of the senate of the University of New Zealand by the general court of. convocation to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. C. M. Gilray resulted in the return of Mr. J. B. Callan, K.C. The polling was: J. B. Callan 811 votes, F. H. Campbell 638, S. N. Ziman 580, informal 75.
