HAWERA CHARITY BALL.

FIRST EVENT OF THE KIND. The Hawera conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will hold its first charity ball in St. Joseph’s hall, Hawera, to-morrow night. Arrangements are well in hand for decoration of the hall, and the supper will be in charge of the ladies’ auxiliary. A large marquee to be erected outside the hall will serve as a lounge. Patrons are assured of an enjoyable night. Wills’ Melodymakers, comprising for the occasion eight firstclass instrumentalists, will set the feet twinkling. The society’s work is purely charitable, and it is confidently hoped that as a result of liberal support the ball will be an outstanding success.
