AMATEUR BOXING

AUCKLAND v. TARANAKI BOUTS. The executive of the Taranaki Boxing Association at a meeting last night decided to hold on Saturday, June 30, the amateur tournament which was postponed last Tliursday on account ,of influenza. Arrangements are being made to match four Auckland champions against four Taranaki champions as the star bouts of the evening. In addition there will be other star bouts between Taranaki boxers. Practically all the boxers who were matched for the previous tournament will be seen in action as well, providing the most attractive programme of amateur boxing arranged at New Plymouth. The tournament will be held in the Agricultural Hall and the prices of admission are being kept low. Mr. L. McAsey will be the referee. Those present at the meeting were Messrs J. Garcia (chairman), R. Daisley. J. Horlor, C. E. Roebuck. 1,. E. Sowry. F. Gable. V. S. Pruden. W. Roebuck, J. M. Smith and E. J. Carr (honorary secretary).
