MAY JOIN AIR FORCE
MR. R. COOK, NEW PLYMOUTH. ■ - ' PUPIL PILOT OF AERO CLUB. A pupil pilot of the New Plymouth Aero Club may shortly join the Royal Air Force in. England. He is Mn Reginald Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. A. Cook, Vivian Street. He has received advice from the British Air Ministry that he will appear before the selection committee of the RAF. for possible admittance'with the AugustSeptember’ entry of recruits. Mr. Cook. ’ will leave N:w Plymouth probably next week. Since securing his A pilot’s licence in 1 the latter part of last year Mr. Cook has had about 30 hours’ solo flying and a fair amount of advanced dual instruction with Flying-Officer lan Keith, instructor to the Western Federated Fly--ing Club, who trained Mr. Cook. He is regarded as a promising pupil of the club and has taken a keen interest, in flying. Mr. Cook is 21 years of age and isan old boy of the New Plymouth High* • School, where he took part in athletics with success.
