Parliament was prorogued after a strenuous four months’ session, during which 70 Bills were passed .dealing with economic, social and industrial life, notably the £6,000,000 Irrigation Scheme and Slums Clearance Bill. The terms of the fusion between the Nationalist and South African Parties have been published. Both parties desire the development of the people along Christian national lines and the development of a predominant sense of national unity based on equality of both sections of the community.
