ANGLICAN PARISHIONERS

MEETING AT FRANKLEIGH PARK. Anglican parishioners of the Frankleigh Park district held their first annual meeting on Tuesday night at the house of Mrs. M. James, Archdeacon G. H. Gavin presiding. The annual report stated that the thanks of the community were due to the vicar (Archdeacon Gavin), Archdeacon F G Evans, the Rev. V. D. Whitlock, the Rev. R. Fordham Clark, Mr. T. Fookes and Mr. Mac Lean. Twenty services were held during the year, the attendances totalling 260, an average per service of 13. Offertories and sundry accounts amounted to <£ll 4s 9d. A resolution that from the present funds in hand an amount of £5 be handed to St. Mary’s vestry fund unconditionally and that the same amount be given each year was carried. For the use of the present Sunday school £1 is to be handed to the trustees. The election of officers resulted: Local churchwarden, Mr. J. W. Spindler; committee, Mesdames M. James, H. Butt, G. Vinnicombe, Messrs. James and G. Vinnicombe (with power to add); secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. W. Spindler. A vote of sympathy was accorded Archdeacon and Mrs. F. G. Evans m their recent bereavement.
