FAREWELL AT BELL BLOCK

MR. AND MRS. HAMMOND LEAVING. A large gathering was present at the Bell Block hall on Wednesday night when a farewell was tendered Mr. .and Mrs. Hammond and family, who are shortly to leave the district. Euchre and dancing was held, there being ten tables of euchre. The winners were Mrs. Looney; Mrs. Tomati, Mr. T. Parkin 'and Mr. Morgan. Music for dancing was supplied by Messrs. Rowe and Watson (piano and violin), extras being played by Misses Joyce Hammond and McCabe and Mr. Bishop. Messrs. L. Lambeth and R. Hoskin were masters of ceremonies. Supper was in the hands of a ladies’ committee under Mrs. L. J. Rundle. Mr. L. J. Rundle spoke of the esteem in which the Hammond, family were held in the district, and mentioned the help they , had given by their attendance at various gatherings. Mr. Rundle on behalf of the residents expressed regret at their departure and extended to them the best wishes of many friends. Mr, Hammond' returned thanks.
