PARTIES STILL SEARCHING

TRAMPERS RETURN TO CITY. QUESTION OF FINDING COST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, May 31. Though the two college trampers, Lysaght and Mason, have returned to the city, searchers are still in the mountains unaware of the fact. Five from the Canterbury side left for Park Morpeth Hut yesterday to go down the Wilberforce River. These may reach Glenthorne station, near Coleridge, tonight. A West Coast party is also combing the ranges and no word has yet been got through to them. The cost of the search is estimated at £4O. As the student funds cannot meet this bill an appeal is being made to the public. Mr. J. C. Mercer, aeroplane pilot, searched the region yesterday and is now held up at Hokitika owing to bad weather. Lysaght, who is in hospital, is progressing favourably.
