"THE CHIEF CERTAINTY"
STABILITY OF THE EMPIRE ONE WAY TO ATTAIN PEACE GROUPING OF THE NATIONS EMPIRE DAY DISCUSSIONS By Telegraph—Press Assn.-Copyright. Rec. 7 p.m. London, May 24. Apropos of Empire Day most newspapers carry editorials, special pages of advertisements and publicity on Dominion products. “Perhaps the chief certainty left in the world is the British Empire and its continuance,” says the Morning Post. The Times says: “In the world to-day there are overwhelming difficulties in achieving anything like universal peace and freedom. An era of suspicious nationalism seems to make that ideal more remote than ever, but unquestionably the way to attain it lies through the gradual grouping of nations prepared to work and trade together and live in peace one with another. One group already formed for this great purpose is the group of British nations and dependencies.”
