WOODLANDS STUD OFFERING. Woodlands Felicie, the four-year-old world’s champion with a record of 12201 b of fat established under the care of Mr. P. J. Peterson on the one hand, the securing of numerous show awards including the winning outright of the points cup at the New Plymouth show on the other hand, show how Mr. H. C. Sampson, of the Woodlands Stud, Hillsborough, has been able by careful study and selection to combine in his herd productive ability and beauty. His slogan has always bean “breed character and utility.” The National sale offering includes a yearling heifer Woodlands Rosita, who is by Woodlands Benefactor, a bull with the imported Clarion Blonde Oxford Victress and Brampton Forward Prince strains, whilst her dam, Woodlands Lucide, is very closely related to the world's champion Woodland’s Felicie, as she is by Brampton Forward Prince and her dam Woodlands Lily, V.H.C., who gave 6241 b fat as a four-year-old in a very dry season, carries 75 per cent, the same strains as Woodlands Felicie. Her career should be worth watching. The other entry, Woodlands Bliss, a two-year-old heifer, is also by the imported Brampton Forward Prince cut of Woodlands Lady Bess, a Biondi’s Victor cow; her dam being Besse’s Oxford Maizette with a c.o.r. of 5101 b fat, a number of the famous Rewa Maize family. The two entries for the club sale on Tuesday comprise the two-year-old heifer Woodlands Precious by Woodlands Felicity’s Vic, a son of Biondi’s Victor and Woodland’s Felicity, who has earned fame as the dam of Woodlands Felicie, the world’s champion. She is out of Woodlands Forward Bess, a son of Brampton Forward Prince (imp.) out of a daughter of Biondi’s Victor. The other is a two-year-old heifer by Silverley’s Donovan, a prize-winning son of the imported Sybil’s Volunteer. Both have been pastured with Woodlands Forward Spark.
