BOX COMPANY’S LOSS
FIRE AT KAKAHI MILL. TIMBER STOCKS UNDAMAGED. Late on Tuesday night the Egmont Box Company’s timber mill at Kakahi was destroyed by fire. AH the plant and machinery was ruined and is .n° w a mass of twisted iron, charred beams and ashes. The timber. stocks were not damaged, the outbreak being confined to the mill, which was covered by insurance. The general manager, Mr. J. G. Elliott, left Eltham yesterday morning on receipt of the news to investigate the damage.
