Sussex: Middlesex in the first innings made 399 (Hart 80, Hendren 112, Newman 74) and in the second lost five for 294 and declared (Hart 107). Sussex in; the first innings made 264 five for 78) and in the second nine for 293 (Melville 109). Middlesex won on the first innings. Essex v. Worcestershire: Essex in the first innings made 469 (Pearce 111, Nichols 102) and in,the second lost four for 109. Worcestershire in the first innings made 515 (Walters 179, Gibbons 104, Pataudi 97). Worcestershire won on the first innings.
Gloucestershire v. Hampshire: Gloucestershire in the first innings made 223 (Barnett 103) and in the second lost nine for 342 and’ declared. Hampshire in the first innings made 263 (Sinfield six.; for 92) and in the second two for 191. Hampshire won on the first innings. Somersetshire v. Kent: Somersetshire in the first innings .made 352 (J. Lee 135 not out) and in the second lost six for 381 (Longrigg 109, F. Lee 110, Case 96). Kent in the first innings made 577 (Fag 111, Woolley 121, Ames 94, Akers-Doug-las 100). Kent won on the first innings. Warwickshire ; /v. Derbyshire: Warwickshire in . the first innings made 267 (Kilner 66) and in the second 174. Derbyshire in the first innings made 263 (Elliott 72 not out) and in the second lost eight for 179 (Storer 79). Derbyshire won by two wickets. Leicestershire v. Northants: Leicestershire in the first innings made 357 (Shipman 101). Northants in the first innings made 100 (Geary five for 24) and followed on, making 137 (Bakewell 78). Leicestershire won by an innings and 120 runs. Surrey v. Nottinghamshire: Surrey in the first innings lost seven for 509 and declared (Gregory 180, Squires 99). Nottinghamshire in the first innings made 226 (Fender five for 70) and followed on, making 240. Surrey won by an innings and 43 runs.
Yorkshire v. Lancashire: Yorkshire in the first innings lost five for 345 and declared (Sutcliffe 73, Mitchell 121, Leyland 73 not out). Lancashire in the first innings made 111 and followed on, making 232 (Bowes four for 60). Yorkshire won by an innings and three runs. Cambridge v Glamorgan: Cambridge in the first innings lost five for 513 and declared (Allen 142, Winlaw 77, Bartlett 128, Human 102)' and in the second none for 17. Glamorgan in the first innings made 286 (Dyson 74) and followed on, making 240 (Duckfield 107; Pelham five for 56). Cambridge won by ten wickets.
