It was decided to refer the matter to the Taranaki Boxing Council, members favouring the'idea of interprovincial matches. In order to avoid clashing with the Hawera tournament, which had been postponed until May 30, the night after the proposed tournament, it was decided to postpone the tournament until June 16.
