SCREEN SIREN’S OPINION
MODERN GIRLS CAN’T HOLD MEN. The girl of to-day gets her manmuch more easily than did her mother, but she is not nearly so successful at keeping him. . So opines Mae West, the movies new scorch queen, who demonstrates convincingly and entertainingly in her films how she attracts the men. “It takes a better woman to keep the man she has these days,” Miss West declared, “than to go out and get a lot of new fellows. “Almost any woman to-day can fascinate the man she admires, but can she hold him? Statistics show that she cannot. In my opinion, getting married is easy. It’s staying married to the same tnan that is the real problem.” Miss West, who never has married, was speaking generally, and not personally, when she expressed the above opinions. t , , “When I do marry,” she said, “its going to stick. None of these divorce lawyerk for me. They’re too expensive.”
