MR. JUSTICE SMITH’S NEW POST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, April 28. . Mr. Justice Smith, who commenced his duties in Auckland a short time after his appointment to the Supreme Court Bench in 1928, will in future be permanent stationed in Wellington. Mr. Justice Smith, who is chairman of the Royal Commission on Native Affairs, will preside over sittings of the Supreme Court at Wellington when the work of the Commission is completed. Mr. Justice Smith’s position at Auckland will be filled by Mr. Justice Fair, who has been engaged at Wellington since his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court recently. Mr. Justice Fair will take up his duties here next month.
