VISIT OF PRINCE

CANCELLATION POSSIBLE PRINCE GEORGE OVER-TIRED BROTHER MAY MAKE TOUR REPORT NOT CONFIRMED EARLY SETTLEMENT LIKELY By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received 6.30 p.m. London, April 28. A high official informed the Sun that Prince George was likely to cancel his tour of Australia and New Zealand. The Dominions Office regretted it was unable to make a statement whether the tour was likely to be cancelled. It added that it was entirely a matter for the Palace. The acting-High Commissioner for Australia, Mr. McLaren, was unable to confirm the news, but the Sun says an official statement will probably be issued from Downing Street on Sunday. It is reported that Prince George is over-tired and that Prince Henry may make the tour. The Daily Telegraph says a doubt has arisen whether Prince George will go to Australia as the South African tour was particularly long and arduous. There is a possibility that the Duke of Gloucester (Prince Henry) will go instead. The Sun interviewed Mr. J. H. Thomas, Dominions Secretary, when he was coming from Wembley after the cup final. He could say nothing about the reported cancellation of the tour. He added that it would be indiscreet “You will have a statement on Monday,” he said. A Sydney cable says there is no confirmation here or at Melbourne regarding reports that Prince George will not fulfil his tour. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. S. Lyons, however, is hurrying to Sydney from Canberra this evening.
