In a wrestling contest at the Newtown Stadium' George Pencheff was nearly accidentally strangled during a severe fullNelson. Walter ‘Browning was exercising a steady pressure on his opponent’s throat and the latter was unable to indicate he wanted to submit The timely intervention of the ringside doctor saved Pencheff, who remained inert for several minutes on the canvas. The contest, however, was resumed. Both wrestlers tied themselves in a knot with a hold and counter-hold, the referee having to assist to untie them,- declaring the contest a draw, one fall each.
