RELATIONS WITH AUSTRALIA
LETTER FROM MR. G. W. FORBES. DELIVERY TO MR. J. A. LYONS. . By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 10 p.m. Canberra, April 27. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. S. Lyons, has received a letter from Mr. G. W. Forbes, personally handed to him by Mr. A. B. Lane, manager of the New Zealand United Press Association, who is visiting Australia. Mr. Forbes makes overtures for much closer relations between New Zealand and Australia. He notes the measures Australia has adopted to deal with the depression and expresses pleasure at the economic recovery of the Commonwealth. The letter refers to the recent transTasman aviation achievements, which are regarded as a happy augury for more frequent air services. Mr. Lyons handed, an official reply to Mr. Lane, who inspected the Federal capital buildings and sights and left for Melbourne.
