AMERICAN GANGSTER HUNT MOBILISATION OF TROOPS ORDERS TO SHOOT ON SIGHT FLEET OF PLANES USED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.15 p.m. New York, April 25. The Federal Government has mobilised 5000 heavily armed police, 300 infantrymen, a fleet of aeroplanes and an elaborate radio communication system to capture John Dillinger, the notorious gangster who recently escaped from prison. All have been instructed to shoot him on sight. Illinois and neighbouring States have armed guards at all the banks. Dillinger is reported to have been seen in many widely separated places. It is obvious that many of these reports are inaccurate. One suspicious car halted for petrol near Akron. Bystanders were afraid to intercept it, and the car was gone when armed forces arrived.
