PROTEST AT EXTENSION. “It was damnable,” said Mr. A- Chapman, president, when discussing the action of the Government in extending daylight saving time by two months at the annual meeting of the Kaimata branch of the Farmers’ Union last night. “We allowed them a half hour,” he said, “and by the way they are going it looks as if they are trying to get the full hour. Farmers milking 100 to 120 cows cannot stand for it. I move that the meeting protest against the extension of the period of half an hour.” The motion was carried unanimously.
