FLYING CLUBS’ FEDERATION
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. RENEWAL OF PILOTS’ LICENSES. An expression of appreciation of the visit of three Western Federated Flying Club machines to the North Island pageant at Hastings was received by the federation committee yesterday. The Hawke’s Bay club wrote offering eight gallons of benzine, which was accepted. It was decided to cable to England for the price of a spare engine. A suggestion is to be made to clubs that they procure standard flares for night flying. Steps are to be taken to see that pilots’ licenses are renewed, pilots who have not renewed their licenses to be prevented from using federation machines. It was decided to procure as a trial an automatic air log to measure flying hours. The suspension of Mr. W. T. Stanton, New Plymouth, was lifted for a probationary period, under the conditions that he keeps within a three-mile radius of New. Plymouth, does his flying under the supervision of the instructor and does not carry passengers. Mr. A. S. Burgess (Wanganui) presided and also present were Mr. J. R. FranElyn,-Captain Gibbons (Wanganui), Dr. W. F. Buist, Messrs. T. M. Ellis and Rod Syme (Hawera), A. F. Sandford and S. E. Nielson (New Plymouth).
