THRILL FOR PASSENGERS

PLANE CRASHES INTO SEA PILOT RESCUED BY JERVIS BAY. FOUND CLINGING TO WRECKAGE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 17. The Jervis Bay’s 600 passengers had an unexpected thrill when they witnessed the rescue of a French airman whose plane sank eight miles north of Bizerta. Three planes were flying in formation near the liner when one fell. The Jervis Bay stopped and lowered a boat. After half an hour’s search the pilot, Charles Petus, was found clinging to a piece of wreckage. He was not injured, and later he returned by a French seaplane, after his squadron at Sedhamed had been informed by wireless.
