VISIT OF HORSE WALLA WALLA. SPORTSMANSHIP RECOGNISED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club to-day the presentation of a gold chronometer hunting watch was made to Mr. L. S. Martin, owner of Walla Walla. The inscription stated the gift was “in appreciation of his sportsmanship in bringing Walla Walla to Christchurch.” Mr. J. S. Shaw, owner of Worthy Queen, who broke the trotting mile record, and Mr. W. McKay, owner of Auburn Lad, who established a mile re<cord for New Zealand, were each presented with £5O.
