PROFIT ON YEAR’S WORKING
TAINUI RUGBY SUB-UNION. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. Senior and junior teams controlled by the Tainui Rugby Sub-Union this year will play four rounds, the competitions to open on April 28, it was decided at the annual meeting of the union at Awakino on Tuesday night. Mr. F. King presided. The following delegates were present: Okau, Messrs. Johnson, Hendrickson and Kennigan; Awakino, Messrs. Jones, Richard and Bartlett; Mahoenui, Messrs. Rattcnbury and Tabman; Mokau
j junior, Mr. Pratt; secretary, Mr. L. Bartlett junr. The annual report showed that a profit of £7 was made on last year’s working. Seven players had played in Taranaki representative football during the season, the number being made up as follows: Taranaki A one, Prince of Wales Cup match three, Taranaki Maori B team two, Taranaki B team one. In each case, said the president, the Tainui representatives had played really good football and had r thoroughly deserved their honours. Mr. A. Bartlett was re-appointed senior . selector and Messrs. A. Richard and T. [. Taylor junior selectors. In thanking the delegates for re-electing him Mr. Bart- ’ lett said he hoped the Taranaki Union s selectors would continue to keep an eye . on the Tainui men, who would be as good as ever this year. He expected the sub-union would place a strong team in j the field.
