TROPHY PRESENTATION
CYCLE AND ATHLETIC LEAGUE. There was a fair attendance at a dance and presentation of trophies held by the New Plymouth Cycle and Athletic League on Tuesday night. The Mayor (Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour) presented trophies as follow: A grade cycle, L. Stevens, silver cup (winner), G. Plucke, silver cup (runner-up); B grade cycle, W. Wood, silver cup (winner), W. Ireland, silver cup (runnerup); running series, G. Sole, silver cup (winner), C. Fox, silver cup (runnerup); championship medals, C. Parker (winner of cycle championships), C. Fox (100yds running champion) and F. Telford (440yds running champion); A grade cycle (scratch race), C. Parker (pair of tyres); B grade cycle (scratch races) pair of tyres, L. Stevens; C grade cycle (scratch races), C. Neighbour; merit certificates for runners-up in the club chanpionships, T. Haw . (half mile cycle), L. Stevens (two and three-mile cycle), and H. Hooke (440yds running). A violin solo was played by Mr. D. Stafford and a humorous item was given by Mr. L. E. Smith. A Monte Carlo waltZ was won by Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour and Mrs. L. Smith. Music was provided by L. Smith’s dance band.
