Mrs. A. E. Grant is visiting Auckland. Mrs. C. H. Wyatt returned to Auckland by the express last night. Miss M. Wade paid a short visit to Auckland during the week. Miss B. Bayly was hostess at a bridge tea on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. W. Woolley, Wellington, is a visitor to New Plymouth, staying at the Terminus Hotel. Mrs. R. A. Fletcher has returned to i’.A Auckland after a holiday at New Plymouth. Mrs. T. Wilson was hostess at an enjoyable bridge party on Wednesday night. Mrs. S. Davidson, Patea, has arrived on a visit to Mrs. Wyboume. Mrs. E. Lash returned yesterday from a holiday visit to Auckland. Miss E. Lagor left this morning on a visit to Woodville and the Wa'-rarapa. • A bridge party was held at the home of Mrs. Geoffrey Strang last night to raise.funds for the West End Plunket baby in the carnival competition. Miss Jean Miller, Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs. W. I. Shrimpton, New Plymouth. Miss Sheila McKenzie has arrived from Wellington on a visit to her, sister, Mrs. R. E. Fisher. Mrs. F. G. Phillpotts has returned from several weeks’ holiday spent in the south. Mrs. T. B. Winch returned to Wellington on Tuesday after a short stay at New Plymouth. Mrs. T. C. List and Miss Rauma List have returned from a visit to Christ-, church and Wellington. . > Miss M. Archdale Taylor, Auckland, is spending a holiday as the guest of Mrs. F. H. Chapman. . The Misses French, Auckland, who have been visiting New Plymouth, left on Wednesday for Wellington. Miss N. Mrs. T. J. Shaw, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at New Plymouth as the guest of Miss Ethel Grant. Mrs. J. H. Sheat has returned from a motoring holiday in the Auckland and Bay of Plenty districts. Mrs. F. Burges Watson, who was at New Plymouth during the visit of H.M.S. Dunedin, returned to Auckland on Thursday, At the home of Mrs. H. J. Power on Monday evening a very successful bridge and D progressive games party was held "to raise funds for the central baby in the Plunket carnival. ' Miss Helen Atkinson, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. G. Morgan, Bangiora, will return to New Plymouth this evening. Mrs. H. M. Thomson left by car during the week on a holiday visit to Hamilton and Auckland. Mrs. G. E. Dinniss entertained on Friday afternoon in honour of her guest, Miss E. Colby, Auckland. Miss Gwen Stepheruon, who has been spending a short holiday at Nelson, will sail from Wellington by the Rangitane to-day on a trip to England. The committee for the East End baby in the Plunket carnival held an enjoyable euchre party in the Fitzroy hall on Thursday night. Mrs- C. Blundell and Mrs. V. Duff left by car during the week for Wellington, where Mrs. Duff was delegated to attend ■ the executive meeting of the Golf Union. Mrs. P. Sim, who has been the guest of Mrs. J. H. P. Strang, left yesterday on her return to Palmerston North. Miss Jean Alexander, Tataraimaka, is spending a holiday at Auckland with her aunt, Mrs. R. W. A successful'bridge party was held in St. Mary’s Hall on Wednesday afternoon in aid of St. Mary’s Church. Thirtynine tables were used for play and a substantial sum was raised.
