GOOD COMPANIONS

A gddd many Of you have read “Good Companions.” Others may have viewed the picturisation of file book. In either case those who have seen or read will remember how the dice of fate cast several “fed up” folks from many odd corners into strange walks of life. A good companion is a very fine thing. Many have never known what a good companion is. I would like to tell you something about them. Sdrrie years ago, quite a number of them left New Zealand’s shores; many, alas, never to return. They were real companions, dinkUfti cobbers ift WOrd aiid deed, ill life or death. They were your companions and mind. Where they went, and what they did, you all know; they were the men Of the N.Z.E.F. Fledged. M defend you. find all that we stand for—Our word. Did they perform the duty assigned to them? I leave it to you to say. There is no brighter spot in the history Of the Great War than the record Of the N.Z.EE. ~ Of those who returned some are all fight, but many of our companions have fallen upon evil days—your companions, who offered the greatest sacrifice that atty man could give—his life, that youf’s might be safe.
