Latham, Australian Minister of Industries, in a statement at the conclusion of his Java tour said the time he had spent had completely confirmed the ideas actuating the Commonwealth Government in despatching the mission, which made many contacts that would facilitate future intercourse between the two countries. “After rapid, colourful visits to inland districts,” he said, “we Iqff with full gratitude of the kindness and hospitality of our hosts, who also expressed great appreciation of the action of the Australian Government in sending the mission. After meeting many business men in Java I am satisfied that a suitable trade representative here would be a great advantage to Australia.”
