PROGRESSIVE PAIRS

BOWLING IN FINE WEATHER. PARITUTU AND WEST END. Another progressive pairs tournament was played on the Paritutu bowling green yesterday. There were 36 players and the weather, was ideal for the game. Six rounds were played, D. O’Neill (with six wins) being the winning skip and A. Papps (five wins) runner-up after a count back of points against G. Papps (five wins). A. Mills (five wins) was the winning lead after a count back against G. Spedding (five wins). On the West End green there were 24 entries in a pairs tournament of six rounds. P. Mason (4J wins) was the winning skip and H. Norfolk (5 wins) the winning lead.

MATCHES AT VOGELTOWN. A progressive pairs tournament was played on the Vogeltown green on Saturday. The winner in the skips, was Bishop, while W. J. Innes won in the leads. The winners will have their names inscribed on a trophy presented by the club as a memorial to the late Mr. Healy. The following are the number of wins of each player:— . Skips: Bishop SJ, Wigley 5, Robertson 5, Robinson 4, T. Innes 4, Ross 3, Ballantyne 3, Dobson 3, Cawthray 3, Griffiths 3, Burke' 2, Okey 2, Langridge 2, McGahey 2, Hooker IJ. Leads: W. J. Vogeltown players to play at Lepperton on Wednesday: Greenway, W. J. Innes, Okey, McGahey; Binnie, Gilbert, Dickson, Ballantyne; Jarman, Dobson, Bishop, Innes.
