AUCKLAND GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS. SEMI-FINAL STAKES ARRIVED AT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland provincial golf championship was continued at Titirangi in fine weather, with fast greens. The following are in the semi-finals: Dobson (New South Wales), Horton (Masterton), Ralph (Auckland), Mac Ewan (Auckland).
A feature of the first round of the championships was the game between the title-holder, B. Silk, Wanganui, and the young Titirangi player Bams-Graham. It developed into a marathon finish, six extra holes having to be played before victory went to the local player. .
DEFEAT OF RANA WAGG AT 21ST. GOLF SENSATION AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Golf Club’s Easter tournament was continued in glorious weather to-day, when the first and second rounds of the provincial championship event were played.. The sensation of the day was the defeat in the first round of Rana Wagg at the 21st by P. W. Blundell. r D. O. Whyte, J. L. Black, W. G. Home and P. Whitcombe were left to fight out the semi-finals to-morrow morning. The final will be played to-morrow afternoon.
