MANAWATU RACE MEETING THE TAMATETE WON BY AGA KHAN GOLDEN CHANT AND AIGUILLE. DECLINE ON THE TOTALISATOR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. The Manawatu autumn meeting was concluded to-day in delightful weather. There was a good attendance and the course was in splendid order. The totalisator handled £Blll, against £lO,BOO 10s on the second day last year. For the meeting the total was £17,603 10s, compared with £22,078 last year. The results are:— KAIRANGA HURDLES. Of £125. One and a-half miles. I—EASTERLY, 11.0 (McDonald) 1 3— BLACKSMITH, 11.3 (Bowden) .... 2 S—ESTEEM, 9.0 (C. Consent was the early leader but at the half mile Blacksmith and Esteem were pacemakers, and they led from Easterly to the straight, where Easterly wore Blacksmith down to win narrowly. LOCKWOOD HANDICAP. Of £lOO. Six furlongs. One and a-quarter miles, I—AGA KHAN, 8.4 (Ellis) 1 5— PANGO, 7.0 (Duncan) 2 3—COPPER KING, 7.7 (Broughton) . 3 Also started: 2 Cricket Bat 8.12, 6 Arrow Lad 8.4, 4 Rust 7.9, 8 Retract 7.8, 7 Cape Fair 7.0. Two lengths each > way. Time, 2m 6s. Aga Khan went to the front from the start and was never headed, winning by two lengths. Pango and Copper King were prominent at the home turn but had no chance with the winner.

STONYHURST HANDICAP. Of £125. Seven furlongs. 4—AIGUILLE, 8.10 (Voitre) 1 2— EMOTION, 9.8 (Wilson) 2 3— LA POUPEE, 9.3 (Broughton) 3 Also started: 1 Senegal 8.11, 5 Heather Glow 7.8, 6 Snowball 7.7. Length and a half; neck. Time, Im 26 2-ss. * Senegal and Snowball made the pace to the home turn, where Aiguille came through and under pressure narrowly beat Emotion and La Poupee. MANAWATU . With Rogilla and Chatham absent from this race Jamieson holds a strong pair in Closing Time and Limarch, while Peter Pan, who galloped seven furlongs in Im 29 Js to-day, will be closely followed. This gallop was his best effort since the spring of his three-year-old days. • Peter Jackson ran the best mile this morning in Is 43|s.
